The following form is for all classes except the competition level classes.  If you are interested in a competition
level class, or private lessons, please contact me.  Classes fill on a first come, first serve basis. The fees are listed
under each class description. Unless otherwise noted, classes are consecutive weeks. Please be sure to double
check your schedule before signing up for class.
I REQUIRE 72 HOURS CANCELLATION NOTICE. After that,
class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to another class. If you cancel before 72 hours, your fee will
be refunded minus the percentage fee PayPal charges me (less than $10.00)

For ALL classes you will need:
  • a six foot leash (preferably soft leather)  -NO Retractable leashes
  • a water bowl/water
  • Soft training treats (no biscuits)
  • Something for your dog to do while I am speaking (a Kong stuffed with frozen peanut butter, a bone to chew, etc.)
  • There is no specific collar requirement.  At the first Basic Beginners class, we talk about the different kinds
of collars there are & what collar fits what situation - so don’t buy anything new yet. Choke chains, pinch
collars, or any other type of corrective collars are not allowed in any of my classes.

For the Puppy and Beginners classes: The first class is a discussion class, please
DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG
.
This class is a good start for any dog
over 5 months old.  Please do not
register your puppy under 5 months old
for this class.

Learning shouldn't hurt-
I do not use choke collars, pinch collars,
shock collars or heavy corrections.  You
are there to TEACH your dog, not force
him!  ALL dogs can learn without the use
of pain as a motivator.

You will learn to teach your dog:
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Come
  • Stand
You will also get lots of tips for behavior
modification

Obedience Classes
You cannot ‘undo’ the first 5 months of
your puppy’s life.  These months are
the most critical time for shaping your
dog's behavior habits. If you miss out
on socializing your puppy during this
period  you cannot simply go back and
fix the problems later.  All puppies need
puppy class!

This class will address:
  • Socialization to other dogs &
    people
  • Obedience Training
  • Housebreaking information
  • Exposure to strange sights,
    sounds, and touches
  • and a million other skills
needed to live in the world!

If you are concerned about your puppy
being too young or not fully vaccinated,
please see
The American Veterinary
Society of Animal Behavior's position
statement on puppy socialization

their dog's obedience skills and for those
who are interested in competing in

Custom and private obedience lessons
If for some reason you can not take one of my classes with your dog, but would still like to work on his obedience, or are interested in
working on something specific, then I offer private lessons.  I strongly urge you to take a class if it is at all possible, as it is a great
benefit to your dog to learn in the distractions of the other dogs (life is full of distractions!).  And I feel so strongly about puppy classes,
that if you can not make my classes, please contact me for other classes in the area that I recommend.   My fee for private obedience
lessons at your home is $45/hour.  If this sounds like something you are interested in, please contact me at
nobaddogs@wideopenwest.com

NOTE: Private obedience lessons are not In-Home Behavior consultations. Private Obedience lessons are strictly for teaching
sit, down, stay, come, heel, and various other skills.  For more information on In-Home Behavior consultations,

Teddy's mom met me at an
event and told me that she
was 'untrainable' and that
she would require a shock
Mixed Breed Open dog in
the country for 2008.  She
was in the top 5 Open Dogs
from 2003-09, and Utility
Dogs in '07.  She also spent
many years as a Therapy
Dog at Children's Hospital...
all without force... and
definitely NOT a shock
collar.

what dedication it would take

Fritz
JR's on the Fritz, CD
Fritz was found in a local
shelter, his story said
something about failing
police dog training.  My
husband, Roger, started
talking to him in German,
and Fritz LOVED it.  We don't
own Fritz, we just love him as
if he is our own.  Roger went
on to put a CD on him.

Zeus' mom had competed
in obedience with her other
boxer, but came to me
saying that she wanted to
do this one right!  She felt
that her Heel was lacking
and wanted Zeus to fully
understand the exercise but
at the same time, use
positive training and a flat
buckle collar (no choke
chains!).  WELL, Zeus got
his CD with a third place
and a score of 194!!!! (out of
200) WOW.  Just qualifying
with a Boxer is something to
be proud of, but to place
and get in the 190's-
AMAZING!!!  Zeus' mom is
so very happy with her boy...
and I am sure he is pretty
happy with her!!!
Heel Class
Heel is one of the hardest things that
you will ever teach your dog.  You are
him and walk at your side on a loose
leash.  For this reason, I have made
this skill a class of it's own.

It is recommended that you take the
Basic Beginner Class before this, but it
is not mandatory.  I do ask that your dog
have a solid sit/stay and down/stay
before entering this class (meaning that
your dog can do a 5 minute sit or down
stay, with various distractions going on,
with you across the room)

Sunday evenings are at 7pm
at 7pm, at
Riverside Drive Animal Care
Center, 6924 Riverside Drive, Dublin,
OH 43017.

  • Classes are 1 hour long
  • Classes are $125 for 6 weekly

Reactivity Workshop

Does your dog go berserk when you have company over?  Is it
embarrassing/difficult to take your dog for a walk? Are you
those
people with
that dog in the neighborhood? Do you find yourself
walking your dog at 5am or 11pm to avoid seeing others? Or have
you gotten to the point that you just don't walk your dog at all any
more? Have you stopped inviting people over because it is so
upsetting to your dog and difficult for you?

You are not alone! This behavior issue is about 80% of the email that I
receive. For the past 20+ years I have been handling this by doing one-
on-one behavior consults. I have helped many, many people, but by
doing one-on-one, I am limited as to how much I can do. I find that I
end up giving too much information at one time and that by the time the
dog is ready for the later steps, the person has forgotten what to do. I
have found that people need more than what I can offer with individual
lessons and have come up with a better way to help.

This is a behavior workshop, not an obedience class. The difference is
that we will not be using obedience to manage your dog's behavior.
We will be using all positive reinforcement techniques to help your dog
overcome what he feels is his need to be reactive. My goal is to fix this
once and for all, not manage it for the rest of your dog's life.

This workshop consists 6 hours of online instruction and a 1 hour
private consultation when through with the online lessons. You can
work at your own pace. When you are through with the online lessons,
simply email me and we can schedule your one hour consultation
(must be scheduled within 6 months of the day you are given access
to the online lessons)

WHAT? NO DOGS? How can my dog learn if he doesn't go to a class?

I decided to structure this class without dogs for several reasons:
  • I can't see any good coming out of putting a group of reactive
dogs together in the same room.
  • You can't listen to the instruction if you are worried about
    managing your dog.
  • Your dog isn't ready to be in the same room with other dogs.
  • Over time your dogs gets used to the other people/dogs in a
class setting and is no longer reactive to them. This is of no
benefit to you in real life situations.

The cost for this workshop is $300.  (My fee for an in-home behavior
consultation is $100/hour, with most appointments being 1.5 hours
long. Doing the workshop saves you around $300, plus gives you the
information in a step-by-step order designed to build on each previous
lesson.) Email me at nobadogsohio@gmail.com for more information.

Until further notice, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all of my classes (except Puppy Class) will be held outdoors at the Vet clinic listed. Being outside, there
will be lots of space where everyone can easily stay 6-10' from each other.

Before registering, please note:
  • We will be outside in the parking lot of the office - there are bugs, uneven ground, and it may not be completely shaded
  • In the case of rain, that week's class will be available online via Google Classroom or a Facebook private page only available to you and your classmates. You will need a
gmail account or a FB page to access your class lessons for those days. (If you don't want a FB page, you can create one under an alias and delete it when classes are
    over)
  • Because we are outside and spread out, masks will be optional
  • I may ask to take your leash to help you with your dog - PLEASE don't be afraid to tell me that you would rather that I didn't. I will use hand sanitizer before and after I
    touch any leash.
  • There is no bathroom access at either office! I do not have keys to the buildings.
  • Please email me if you need additional information: nobaddogsohio@gmail.com

For puppy class only:
  • Because there is 15 minutes of play time at the beginning of Puppy Class, these classes will be held at my house (Strawberry Farms subdivision/Easton area) where we
will be in my yard - there are bugs, uneven ground, and only half the yard is shaded. I will send you my exact address in your confirmation email.
  • There is no bathroom access at my house - there is no way that I can sanitize between people since I will be outside teaching class.
  • it is so very important that your puppy be touched by others and socialized. Please bring a mask for those lessons that may require you to be momentarily closer to your
classmates, and hand sanitizer to clean your hands before and after touching someone else's puppy.
